Not every problem has to be solved. |
Not all problems are solved with thinking. Sometimes, you need to let a problem marinate in its own juices. You need to let it sit in the batter of more possibilities before it loses its bitterness like bitter gourd seeping in sugar and vinegar. |
Sometimes you need to allow time and space to take hold of the problem and put it in solitary confinement with just some water to keep it alive but not kicking.
Sometimes, you need to let the bloodbath lead to natural clotting before you numb the problem with time, knowing very well that time is not a healer but an anesthetist. It drugs the wound to believe that it never was but when the trigger happens again, the problem will have to be put on the operating table and allow it to lead you to your wounds that need the antiseptic of tender love and care.
Sometimes the problem is never a problem but overthinking, anger, anxiety, fear and apathy in overdrive. Overthinking and anxiety of not living in the present and allowing your mind to race between the past and the future. Anger from where you feel powerless and something that you can't control, fear from an identity or idea that you care about and can't let go. And apathy from where you are feeling tired, exhausted and burnt out.
Sometimes, you let the right answer emerge when you let go. Sometimes when you let go, you realise the problem was never about what someone said but what you imagined they meant based on your own filters and conditioning.
Stop trying to solve everything. Sometimes, you need to make room for the unexpected, the unimaginable, the unplanned, a divine intervention. Sometimes a problem is never a problem but just a deterrent letting you take the focus off that one thing that is taking up your mindspace.
Sometimes, you need to have the faith that things will work out in due course. You just need to surrender yet keep doing the purusharth - the effort and participating in life. You'll just know when the problem loses its hold over you.
Let the milk boil over, let the story unfold in due course, let the problem pickle, let the magic simmer, let the odds caramelize, let the right answer cook itself in the gravy of possibilities.

The world championship of spirituality? |
Thankfully, there is none. And hopefully there never will be one.
Spirituality is not a sport where the pursuit is for gold, and you have to beat others to get there. It may ask for playfulness and may be called the leela of the divine but it's not a game of winning, losing or one upmanship.
It's not about the number of hours you have clocked in meditation sitting cross legged on a yoga mat. It is not about the number of austerities and rituals you have performed to invoke the devtas or the amount of sacrifices you have made not as a form of prayer but a way to seduce the gods to answer your wishes.
It's not about the healing crystals you have in your armoury to heal people or the collection of gold-plated tarot cards you have at home or the pages of the scriptures you have read. It is never about how well you can contort the body as a form of yoga or the level of reiki you have learnt. It's never about the pages of journaling you have done and the number of gratitude journals you have filled year after year. It's not about the number of times you've had magic mushrooms or the many times you have visited medicine men in South America. It's not about the hours you have spent on an inner journey or the journeys you have taken to sacred, religious sites across the world.
It's not a sport about the number of life transformation retreats you've run or have attended. It's not about your skills in how well you manipulate the laws of attraction or the magic mantras that you have memorised. Not also about the times you've bathed in the sounds of forests and the times you've aligned your own chakras. It's not about how well you’ve mastered semen retention or the number of years you've been celibate.

Strip the timelines, numbers, judgement, spiritual ego and finiteness from the above and see what you are left with?
Whatever you are left with then is your realisation of your spiritual beingness - your journey different from every other journey of becoming one with the divine and your own unique path of knowing yourself, realising your higher self and manifesting the divinity within you into the world through selfless, detached, desireless action.
