Come home. The world can wait. |
When your arms don't have any more strength to pick someone up from the way life has battered them, come back home and hold yourself tightly in your arms. |
When your bones are tired by lifting the weight of everyone's woes, shift your energy inwards, to yourself, so that you don't crack under duress.
When your hands ache from helping people count their blessings which they themselves are showing a finger to, hand yourself some compassion and come back home.
When your lungs are tired of breathing life into others, take a breather in the sanctuary of your being.
When your heart is bleeding as you give love to those who are grieving, find it in your heart, the strength to come back home to your centre.
When your feet are tired from walking with someone who is not ready to walk the path anymore, come back home to a tub of warm water and epsom salt as you heal your heels.
When your legs are tired as you run for those who find this as an entitlement, come back home to yourself and give those legs a massage to remove the knots of attachment.
When your skin burns as you burn for others while they see their lives as a warm, safe, bath of their victimhood, come back home to your cocoon and apply balm on sores that are leading you to a burnout.
As your mind feels the fatigue and exhaustion of finding answers for others, come back home to your heart, let your mind rest and not do the overthinking.
When your stomach growls as you eat a lot less caught in a virtue trap of faux martyrdom, come back home and satiate yourself with self-love.
When your shoulders hurt from the heavy lifting you do for others, come back home as you give yourself your own shoulder to cry and heal on.
When your nerves of steel become putty in the hands of those who manipulate you with fear, come back home to your nerve centre, your being.
When your hair takes on the colour of winter as you help people be in constant spring, come back home and let your hair down for some well-deserved wintering.
When your nails become hard and brittle for you have been using them to dig out and slay others' demons, come back home to a manicure and many a cure.
Come back home. The world can wait.

Microbravery. The little acts of big courage. |
Getting out of bed when you have no reason to is an act of courage. So is choosing coffee over the half leftover bottle of gin from last night.
Telling someone you love them is an act of courage. Showing up for them is too. But most importantly, showing up for yourself is what makes you brave and unreasonable.
Being kind is being brave. Giving your word to someone is brave too. Following through on your word is brave. And keeping your word to yourself even when the sky is falling is brave too.
Allowing yourself to get vulnerable in a conversation with someone is being brave. Telling your story is a brave thing. Rewriting your story is magical.
Saying no is being brave. No to a toxic relationship, expectation, idea or demand. Saying yes is an act of courage too. Yes to a new idea, new dream, new challenges, new love.
Keeping your faith in times of adversity is being courageous. Going out of your comfort zone to learn a new thing is an act of courage. And also is accepting that you suck at many things.
Putting yourself out there is a brave act. And bravery also is standing your ground when someone says you don't belong here.
Holding space for someone is an act of courage. Hand-holding someone is too. Having a tough conversation is an act of courage. Just listening to someone when they are hurting is an act of courage too.
Accepting your imperfections is courageous. And so is accepting your emotions.
Saying thank you and saying sorry are acts of bravery. Forgiving someone after having been hurt is courage as well.
Surrendering just the next 10 minutes to the universe is an act of bravery. And so is allowing one more minute after that.
Letting go of control is courage. Simply letting go is too. Choosing to let go of being manipulative is bravery too. And so is being able to toggle between personality and beingness at will and being aware of it.
Choosing to fix a relationship gone sour is an act of courage. Yet, not allowing the person back into your life and home is courageous too.
Bravery isn't about groundbreaking endeavours but the little acts you do every day to heal yourself and live a more fulfilling life from a space of love.
