There is someone out there who has followed your journey over the years from afar and you still inspire them in ways you don’t even know. Someone makes every new decision in their life against the backdrop of the advice you gave them years ago. You are someone’s favourite influencer and every word that you say is the final word. On the day you do not show up, they feel that their sun doesn’t shine very brightly and they just amble through the hours, waiting for you to fight your resistance.           You can choose to disappear today, but never forget that you are someone’s favourite account. You are their source of strength, the inspiration they need to go through the day. Today, you may let the snooze button win against the alarm, the duvet win against the running shoes and gin win against the coffee, But someone out there is counting on you, waiting for you to win against your own demons and not be caught in the prison of “I don’t matter.” Because to them, you do. You are the light in their dark tunnels, the only reason they have not faded into oblivion.           They have watched how you’ve kept going and because of that, they feel they can too. Your tenacity and resilience give them hope and more than hope, it gives them a belief that they will be fine.           Someone still remembers you and wonders how and where you are. Their morning coffee doesn’t taste the same without you and they still go to your cupboards to get a whiff of you. You are still a part of their lives in small ways. Someone turns their head when they hear a laugh like yours and wishes that it really is you.           You have been the light in the lives of people—touching them, moving them, honoring them, strengthening them, inspiring them, softening them, energising them and giving them the belief that they are infinite and far more magnificent and expansive than they have given themselves permission to be.           You light up faces and rooms with your presence. Your authenticity makes people witness their own light. Your love sparks love in the hearts of those who had closed theirs for years.           Your failures don't need an autopsy but a burial.                     Today, when you get a chance, take a deep breath and write down all your regrets in life: the biggest and the smallest, the ones that hurt and the ones that have healed, the personal ones and the professional ones, the new ones and the old ones. Once the page is full, rewrite these regrets in a language that transcends fear, guilt, shame, anger and resentment—a language of love and instructions to yourself to live a life filled with more love, informed by the wisdom of your learnings and experiences, rather than a life ridden with grievances—remorseful and repentant.           Turn regrets into instructions for love, knowing that everything is part of a divine plan that happens for us and leaves behind a trail of lessons for our own evolution. Understand that regrets arise when you look at your past and wish you could have done things differently. But could you have? In that moment in time, you made what you felt was the best decision for you based on your limited understanding and wisdom. No one ever takes the second-best decision. You did what you believed was best for you then.           We all have failed. We all will fail.           You’ve worked on an idea for aeons and it hasn’t seen the light of day. Maybe during that time, surrendering the creative process to a higher intelligence was not in your consciousness.           You’ve slogged over a book for years and it is still not flying off the shelves. Perhaps the discipline to sit down and write was a more important lesson for you.           That one relationship that made you feel that love exists in the world and then it got messed up. In that moment, maybe being free was more important for you than being tied down to a life of expectations.           Let the regrets go. Learn from them, but don’t dwell on them for too long. What you can do right now is far more important than what you could or should have done.           Let it go. Bury the thought and move on. Don’t conduct an autopsy on your failures and regrets, mopping and crying over their death. The universe does not owe you an explanation. Own your disappointment and move on. Use it to start a new journey.
