  Overthinking is not self-awareness.

  mark

Self-awareness is not overthinking a diet plan and knowing what food suits you best.
It’s knowing why you have a certain relationship with food in the first place.

Self-awareness is about feeling. Overthinking is about predicting.

Self-awareness is asking questions and seeking answers. Overthinking is asking questions
and seeing answers as you want to see them.

Self-awareness is about seeing your patterns so you can start choosing the life you want instead of allowing it to run on autopilot. Overthinking is evaluating the pros and cons of the autopilot life but not making a choice to change the patterns.

Self-awareness requires conversations with the self. Overthinking is allowing loud chatter inside that head, hoping for answers.

Self-awareness is living outside your head. Overthinking is living inside it.

Self-awareness is a pilgrimage. Overthinking is many short sprints.

Self-awareness comes from self-love. Overthinking is covert self-loathing.

Self-awareness takes time. Overthinking wastes time.

Self-awareness is surrendering to the process and allowing the results to reveal themselves. Overthinking is controlling the process and the outcome but convincing yourself otherwise.

Self-awareness is about wanting to make a change in yourself. Overthinking is seeing what’s wrong with the world and finding ways to change its perceptions about you.

Self-awareness is surrender. Overthinking is a strategy.

Self-awareness is a healing response. Overthinking is a trauma reaction.

Self-awareness is changing from the inside out. Overthinking is trying to make a change from the outside in.

Self-awareness is no analysis—just unquestionable acceptance. Overthinking is a SWOT analysis and self-approval, not self-acceptance.

Self-awareness is pressing the Enter key. Overthinking is pressing the Escape button.

Self-awareness is awareness—the knowing. Overthinking is thinking—the wanting.

Self-awareness is about getting better at feeling. Overthinking is only caring about
feeling better.

Self-awareness is knowing that you are the universe. Overthinking is convincing yourself
and manipulating others to believe that you are the center of the universe.

A life transformation program.

Sit at the table where they talk about the universe, dreams, healing, faith
and blessings. Not People.

  mark

Every day in your life, you’ll be invited to a pity party as well as a joy party. You will be expected to RSVP in a split second and what you choose will change your life.

Choose the table you want to sit on.

The table of the pity party seems more enticing. There are grudge starters, regret shots,
a grazing table with a spread of suffering, anger platters, revenge snacks, hate cocktails and a huge buffet of worry, doubt, blame, boredom and disappointment. Seductresses wearing designer despair, impatience perfumes and pessimism mascara talk animatedly of lost dreams, cruel partners, apathetic friends, unfair lives and a desolate future of powerlessness—all this while downing dopamine shots.

This table will always be full, but show a little interest and people will always make space for you here—even if it means there are three on a chair meant for one.

There’s another table, though and there’s always a seat available—even when it’s full.
In fact, the table expands generously as you pull a chair around it.

This is a table where they sit and talk about ideas, God, the universe, shooting stars, miracles, puppies and caterpillars, butterflies and turtles, healing, holding space, oxytocin-releasing hugs, dreams, passion projects, journalling insights, forgiveness, compassion, kindness, meditations, sacred meetings, morning rituals, humour and love. On this table, there’s only space for conversations about blessings, not burdens; intuition, not gossip; abundance, not scarcity; truth, not beliefs; faith, not fear; dharma, not drama; overfeeling, not overthinking; action, not inertia.

This table has cocktails of elixir and snacks of ambrosia, enthusiasm starters, compassion dips, empowerment cheese platters, passion shots, contentment nibbles and freedom desserts. And on this table, people sit metaphorically naked, wearing nothing but their authenticity.

Both tables end with an afterparty. Both keep you awake. In the first one, you cry alone into your wet pillows and your fears and anxiety don’t let you sleep. In the other, your dreams keep you awake, waiting for morning for you to jump out of bed and send a big RSVP to life and being alive.
