Give yourself the permission to be wrong about yourself.

  Be wrong about yourself.

Question everything about yourself, every belief that you hold, every identity that you protect, everything that you have been made to believe about yourself. Let go of the rigidity of who you have become or want to become and become malleable – just be wrong about yourself for a day or even a week.

Maybe you do like to cook and your culinary skills go beyond adding just tastemaker to a pot of Maggi noodles. Today, make a meal for yourself. Be wrong about the fact that you are born to eat, not beat eggs.

Maybe you are gorgeous and not in the conventional way that Cosmopolitan or Elle define beauty but how your daughter sees you. Walk into a room today as if you are the tallest
and most beautiful queen in history. Be wrong about yourself.

Maybe you are the toxic person in a relationship. Maybe you are the one who can’t hold onto a relationship and become scathing and vindictive when you are not loved back. Maybe your unhealed parts are projected onto those who step into your inner circle and wish they hadn’t. Give yourself the permission to be wrong about yourself.

Maybe you are good at interacting with people and being the star of a party but the tag of being an introvert has been so deeply ingrained into you that you choose to languish in the far end of the room, seething at the nostrils, envious of those who are loud and boisterous. Maybe your coping mechanism since childhood has been to shut up and notice instead of talk and express. Give yourself the permission to be wrong about yourself.

Maybe you do suck at being a collaborator. Maybe you do sabotage any new idea or thought because it is not yours to start with and your need for validation doesn’t allow you to let anyone else take the credit. So, nothing in your team ever moves and you see everyone
as a slacker. Maybe you are wrong about yourself.

We tend to be most inflexible about our identities in areas that we’ve been hurt the most because these identities have helped us survive in the world. It’s time to let go of what we’ve been holding on to for years. Because what we hold on to just holds us back.

Give yourself the permission to be wrong about yourself.

A life transformation program.

Life doesn't transform in the grandness of life, but in the everydayness of it.

  mark

Life transformation is not this grand event in the heavens, a thunderclap in the kingdom
of God, an event worthy of breaking news in the celestial realms or a shift that creates a parallel universe.

Life transformation happens in the everydayness of life, in the little things we change
in the minutiae of the fleeting present moments of our days.

Life transformation is not when one fine day suffering chooses not to knock on your door and you find happiness. It happens in the littleness of actions, of looking at yourself with love in the bathroom mirror and giving yourself the permission to be happy today. Life transforms in that moment for when every cell eavesdropping on your thoughts and feelings does a happy dance and amps the good work in your body on a double shift.

Life transforms when you bring order to a disarrayed life by doing one thing differently.
By waking up an hour early and choosing to just be rather than getting into the hustle
and bustle of making a living. Life transforms in the smallness of magic. In the warm
smiles at the house help and the kind words to those who toil to mitigate the inconveniences in your life.

Life transformation is not an extraordinary, out-of-this-world event that happens at a retreat in the Himalayas. It happens when you become aware of the repetitive pattern that runs your life and you take one itsy-bitsy baby step to change your response to the same beliefs on loop.

Life transforms in the awareness of guilt, envy, jealousy, victimhood, service of the ego, unnecessary competitiveness and those unexplained triggers of anger. It happens when you simply observe yourself, becoming a sakshi - a witness of your life. Life transforms by being a seer and the seen.

Life transforms in the little acts of generosity, compassion, empathy, gratitude and forgiveness. It happens when you consciously choose to have a better life for yourself irrespective of the trials and tribulations, grief and elation, depression or expression.

The most absolutely magnificent transformation happens in the privacy of your being,
when you have small wins in your dharmakshetra - the inner battlefield and not
the kurukshetra - the outer arena.
