In fact, they tie their laces and hit the road every day.           Taking ownership of your life and creating a big one does not lie in the drawers of an old battered desk, but on it, right amidst the chaos of the present. Life does not lie in the attics long forgotten, collecting dust and regret but loved just enough to keep you warm on an evening with friends when you brag about it. It rests on the bedside, ready to be picked up where you left it to marinate last night.           Keep evolving. Never stop creating.           The best teachers in the world are still learning and teaching. Just that now it’s their backyards and neighbourhood chai shacks that have become their new classrooms and libraries. The best healers in the world are still healing, still helping prana flow in their own beings and those who seek healing. The best painters are still painting, still failing, still not selling everything they create but still showing up. The best actors still go on stage every day, taking in the adulation of life. The best authors are still writing, page after page, every day, still stringing fiction and reality of their lives together with words. The best bosses are still getting their hands dirty. The best musicians are still creating music. The finest chefs are still showing up in their kitchens. The best mothers and fathers are still being childlike. The best bakers are still kneading the dough with their own hands. The best shoemakers still wake up to the divine smell of leather and glue in the mornings.           A bigger life happens when you never give up or give in. Time doesn’t kill your drive and the awards on the mantelpiece don’t make you complacent but push you for more meaning in life. The life of our past is not the life of our present. But the life of the present is a life full of presence and abundance. It’s a beautiful life waiting to co-create with you. Come, play.           A bigger life lies in ‘being there, doing that’, not in the laurels and accolades of the past, not in the narrative of ‘been there, done that.’                 The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.                     The magic that you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding. Your joy, healing, clarity, expansion, it’s on the other side of the very thing that you are resisting. The very thing you are resisting - be it a difficult conversation, a blank canvas, a breakup you haven’t processed, a fear of being seen, the phone call you are dreading, the story that you are scared to tell, the idea that feels too big to begin - these are the things that are not blocking your path, they are the path.           The magic that you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding. Your joy, healing, clarity, expansion, it’s on the other side of the very thing that you are resisting. The very thing you are resisting - be it a difficult conversation, a blank canvas, a breakup you haven’t processed, a fear of being seen, the phone call you are dreading, the story that you are scared to tell, the idea that feels too big to begin - these are the things that are not blocking your path, they are the path.           What stands in the way is the way. What you resist, persists. What you allow, sets you free. Resistance is not a stop sign or a detour. It is the call to keep following your heart, to keep going and meet your next breakthrough. The work you avoid is where the gold lies, that’s where the treasure of love, joy and wholesomeness that we seek out our entire life lies buried.           Avoidance is often a disguise worn by transformation. The more resistance you feel, the more meaningful the work likely is. The more you see yourself finding and giving excuses to not act upon what needs to be done, the more important it is for your healing, your expansion, your joy.           Embrace the discomfort. Pain, fear, procrastination are not the enemies or the dragons in the doorway. They are invitations to slay your own demons and the parts of you that seem like enemies. Sure, it will be hard to become the new person and let go of an old image but life calls upon you to choose your hard, to choose the things that seem hard for it’s only when we break the hard shells, does new life begin.           You want to write a book, but you avoid the blank page. You want to let go of the debris of an old wound, but you avoid making the forgiveness call. You want your peace but you avoid standing up to your boss. You want to be free but you avoid the hard chat and the drama it will cause. Showing up despite the fear, that’s the book, the peace, the freedom that you seek. You long for love, but resist vulnerability. Vulnerability is the way. And sometimes the only way to soften your heart that has been hardened for so long.           Don’t run from what stands in your way.
