Around them you will let your hair down and be as childlike as you can be. You will laugh like a child, roll like a puppy and cuddle up like a soft toy.           One day you will meet someone around whom you will become happier, lighter and brighter. You will speak, laugh, cry, create, sing, dance, paint, sleep in, wake up early, have pizza for breakfast without the fear of being judged. You will show the truest self only to this person.           One day you will meet someone who does not react and takes their own sweet time to respond. Someone who loves being alone with you and who does not disappear when something feels off. Someone who doesn’t chase conversations and doesn’t beg to be understood anymore.           One day you will meet someone who will make everything feel like an adventure, turn ordinary days into movie scenes, desires into reality. This person will make your dreams their own; your goals will have their all in every breath.           One day you will meet a person who calls it a day before the nightclubs open, loves being alone, chooses their peace over overthinking the worst, chooses being free over being right. Someone who allows people to stay if they want to stay, and allows them to leave if they want to.           One day you will meet a person who doesn’t hold their likes and dislikes tightly, who doesn’t cling to the past or swing into the future without enjoying the magnificent life in its present. You will meet someone who doesn’t get scared by being alone and the only thing that scares them is losing themselves.           One day you will meet a person who knows that real freedom comes from nothing. When they have nothing to chase, nothing to fear, nothing to hide and nothing to prove. You will meet someone who knows that life is about observing and not absorbing; the little everyday moments are what life has to be lived for and not those big, thunderclap-in-the-sky moments that we wade through our weekdays for.           One day you will meet a person who will hold you in love and light and tell you they have been waiting for you to become the person you were always meant to be. And nothing in the universe makes them more proud than you stepping into your own truth, power and light.           One day you will meet a person who will hold you in love and light and tell you they have been waiting for you to become the person you were always meant to be. Performance is the healer. Identity is the addiction.                     A role begins as a strategy, a coping mechanism, a solution to get love, safety, attention or stability. So you become the good child, the achiever, the happy one, the caretaker, the funny one, the fixer, the rebel, the invisible one. You finally figure out a way to get approval from the people around you by playing the role.           You don’t know any other way and you keep playing the same role, repeating the same solution again and again until, at a point, it becomes a habit, an auto-response, the same reaction to the same triggers. You don’t even choose it anymore, it chooses you. You do it before you know you’re doing it. Approval rewards the performance, and the nervous system tags it as safe. The praise, the likes, the validation, they all become a hit.           And somewhere in the shadows, without you even knowing, an identity quietly forms. Not because you decided it, but because you start mistaking the strategy for the self - for who you really are. An identity of the doer, fixer, lover, performer, achiever. Now you don’t just want to do well. You want to be seen doing well. You don’t just want to help. You want to be needed. You don’t just want to create. You want the applause that proves you exist.           After the high, the crash happens - when someone doesn’t clap, when someone misunderstands you, when you’re not picked, when you’re not needed, when you rest, when you say no, when you stop performing. And because you don’t know any other way, you desperately seek another hit, another high. That’s why approval feels like a drug. Performance becomes the dealer. And identity is the addiction.           These roles were once survival. They protected you when you didn’t have choices. But what once kept you safe can later keep you small. And there is an exit door from this sesh room. Start by naming the role that you slip into when you want love or safety. Notice the performance loop where you are repeating it automatically. Take one ‘unrewarded’ action. Do one thing today with zero witnesses. No announcement, no credit. Train the nervous system to believe that you are safe even without the applause.
