Nothing belongs to you. The next minute, the next hour or the next day. Nothing. The past doesn't belong to you. Not anymore. It could have when it was the present, but not now.           Your ideas don't belong to you. They belong to the universe who dropped them in your consciousness to nudge you to become a co-conspirator and co-creator. They came to you so you could be the gardener and nourish them so they could be planted for the flowering of humanity in God’s garden here on earth.           Your thoughts don't belong to you. Thoughts are the universe's way of bringing into your consciousness what it believes you are ready for. But you attach yourself to these thoughts. Then you use these thoughts to make decisions. When you attach outcomes to these decisions, they become goals. And goals then define your joys and sorrows.           Your business doesn't belong to you. Businesses have a purpose too, to exist at a time and place so they can help people live their purpose as coworkers, partners, customers, shareholders. You have been chosen by the business to live your own purpose in the process.           Your diamonds, gold and rubies do not belong to you. They are the riches of the planet and eventually they'll go back to the planet. The only riches that belong to you are the precious jewels that lie within you which you still haven't mined.           Your children don't belong to you. Khalil Gibran wrote, your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, and though they are with you, yet they belong not to you. However, the gladness you feel in raising them belongs to you.           Your body doesn't belong to you. It belongs to Gaia - mother earth and you wear it just for this one lifetime. Even if it is on ‘your’ plot of land, the tree that you pluck the fruit from to nourish your body and sit under the shade to rest your body of does not belong to you. You use the tree to feed you and once you die, your body becomes its food.           The only thing that belongs to you is this present moment and how you choose to meet life. Your attitude in this moment belongs to you. Either to hold your face in your hands and blame life and the circumstances or to face the reality with unquestionable acceptance and pour yourself into this very moment to change your life. Your choices in this moment are the only things that belong to you. Make them from a space that nothing belongs to you.                 Fall in love with creating like you fall in love.                     The beginning of any new idea, work or a passion project is often full of drama. There is an aha moment after aha moment as if the entire plot, plan, story and strategy is laid out in front of you like a multi-cuisine buffet. There is a clear vision of what the work will look like, you are bouncing off the walls, the senses are stimulated, the adrenaline is pumping, you are in a happy, giddy phase and you can't wait to pour everything of yourself into your creations and into the world.           It's quite like falling in love.           Let the beginning be akin to lust and infatuation that starts a romantic relationship. Where you show up with all the love you are capable of. Where you don't care about what path this relationship will take in the future. The only thing that matters to you is spending this very moment with your lover - your creative project. Feel the intensity of the emotion, jump into the new relationship with your creation regardless of any fears, dangers or long-term plans. Overrule common sense when you are in a relentless, lustful relationship with your creation. Because common sense is a downer, a loyal cousin of resistance.           And like every new relationship, keep it under wraps. Not everyone needs to know, except those who are the champions of your creative self-worth. Not because of the evil eye of your naysayers but because every new idea needs to be protected, not shown off to the world attracting judgement, digs and trolling which you do not deserve to hear at this stage.           Yes, it's a new piece of creative work or an idea that can change your life. It needs your unabashed devotion, your love and everything that you can muster and most importantly, your time. A new relationship without showing up for it will die a natural death even before it gets a chance to become something long lasting.           Fall in love with your ideas of a big life.
