Uncreation is creation too. |

One day you will sit down to create, you may realise that the words don't come, the song doesn't come, the story doesn't come, the ideas don't come, the dance doesn't come, the speech doesn't come, the notes don't come. |
This is not a writer's block, an artist's block, a songwriter’s block or a storyteller's block. It's probably an invitation to unblock. To uncreate the expectations you have of yourself, to uncreate the fear that you have manifested, to uncreate the judgment of others that freezes you, to uncreate the feeling of control that makes you lose your head, to uncreate the meaning you have given to your work and let it find its own meaning in the universe, to uncreate your dream, rejig it and allow a new dream to emerge from the depths of your being, to uncreate the pain of the drudgery of creation and take in a double shot of playful creation, to let go of an identity that you have created and create from a space of a beginner and no-one-ness.
And as you uncreate, it's a deeper invitation to create space for yourself. A space to bloom without the world’s eyes on you. A space that allows yourself to not see your life as a failure that has that to be fixed but as a lesson that needs to be internalised at its own pace. It's an invitation to sit in silence and listen to the loud voice of your inner critic that is breathing into a megaphone and breathing the last bit of self-worth out of you. It's an invitation to voluntarily rest. To close yourself off from the world, announce that winter is here and hibernate in the warm embrace of yourself love and self-care. It's an invitation to create nothingness and emptiness and be bereft of all that makes you want to do instead of just be. It's an invitation to create a safe space for yourself to fill yourself up with love and light. It's an invitation to look for the magic in the things you are avoiding, an invitation to change your love language and break the patterns where love seems to have taken the demonic form of attachment and sacrifice.

On some days, you may have nothing to show up for. Still, show up. |

The show must go on, or shall we say, the show up must go on.
There will be days when inspiration may play truant, when an idea will stand you up, when motivation will be AWOL, when happiness will decide to take a week off, when joy will be in short supply, when resistance will walk into your home uninvited and sprawl on the couch, when self-doubt will take over the kitchen and make a seven course meal of pity, apathy, regret, sadness, jealousy, fear and contempt.
That's when you should go forward and make yourself available to the universe. Show up, even if you have nothing to show up for.
You will not always have the clarity or certainty you want. Don't make that an excuse. You may not have all your life worked out, but you still need to show up. An acorn knows that it will eventually become an oak tree but just because landslides and floods are predicted today doesn't mean that it does not show up to be an oak in the making. It surrenders and then just chooses to be. A bird doesn't sing because it has to. It sings because it has a song inside it. A cloud doesn't show up because it knows that it will become rain and then it will fall in a river and then it will live in a water tank and then through a faucet it will flow into a kettle and then it will become a refreshing cup of tea for someone. A cloud doesn't know this (or maybe it does), it just shows up to become more than it gave itself permission to be this morning.

A writer doesn't find reasons not to write. A storyteller does not find reasons not to tell stories. A musician doesn't find reasons not to play. The painter doesn't find reasons not to paint. An entrepreneur does not find reasons not to create. A bee does not find reasons not to make honey. A whale does not wait for the right conditions to sing lullabies to the calf in its pod.
They do not wait for the rightness of an idea. They just do it. Because even they know, the universe can seemingly have an off day, but it's still working through them.
Don't wait for the right conditions. This moment is the perfect condition. Be the acorn. You will become an oak. The dots will connect sooner than you can imagine.
