In every loss, there's you to be found. |
In every loss there is something new to be found. Sometimes you can't see it immediately, but as soon as the dots connect, the incredible reality reveals itself to you. And all you can do is sit in awe and wonder at how everything, just everything happens to a divine plan and timing. For you. |
Sometimes in the loss of the love that had started becoming your reason for living again, you find a love within you that's deeper, kinder, stronger, magical and dream-like. Sometimes in the loss of a job, you find an opportunity that brings you back to the gifts and talents you had far locked away in the storage boxes of memories and time.
Sometimes in the loss of a relationship with a friend who'd been with you for years, you find that you had outgrown the friendship long ago and whatever you were holding onto was just a thin thread of mutual respect, politeness and conditioning of not letting go, in the process, holding each other back.
Sometimes when you lose someone you depended on, you find the strength to step into your own light and realise that all this while, you were meant for so much more. You had just never given yourself a chance or had an opportunity to experience it.
Sometimes when you lose a belief that you are holding on to for years, you will find unbridled freedom in expressing your real self. Sometimes when you miss the bus, you realise that you have found a new path to walk yourself home - a path that is paved with happy memories, a spring in the step and lilies too.
Sometimes when you lose your mind, you'll find yourself and this new version of you that is all heart, and no mind, is the version that you love the most. Sometimes when you lose the battle against all odds, you find the comfort of your own inner space, your own sanctuary that keeps you protected from all the wars the mind and ego wages against you.
Sometimes when you lose yourself, you find the most profound and authentic version of yourself that puts you on the path of honouring your purpose.
Sometimes when you lose your flow of thought, you find a 'sweet' pun to end a post with.
Here goes.
In life, you win some, you lose some. You payasam, you khoyasam.

Train the buck to always stop at you. |

When someone is not changing, when the everyday bickering is not abating, when the avoidant attachment style is not wavering, when the way they let anger guide them is not lessening, when their views on life are not getting different, you can either sulk, shut yourself up and allow the same turmoil of emotions to envelop you, have the same reactions and the same way of dealing with this mess.
Or you can ask yourself a deeper question.
If you are being irritated again and again by the same person for the same things and the person refuses to change, think about it, going by your same reactions every time, even you are not willing to change.
You are being triggered by the same actions, responses, language, remarks and habits, but maybe you are not willing to address your own triggers and have them lead you to your wounds. For only when your wounds are healed, will the triggers stop being triggers.
You're choosing to change the source of the trigger, the person who caused it in the first place. Very akin to shooting the messenger, no? And even if you manage to change one person at some level, how do you intend to do that with the other 8 billion minus one people on the planet?
Bring the buck back. And let it stop at you. Dive into yourself and heal your wounds that lead you to the path. Cure the disease, not the symptoms. You can't control the experiences, but you can control the experience of the experience. You do not experience suffering, you suffer the experience of the experience.
Someone's behaviour triggers you but does not bother another person. Someone's perspective wants you to slap them, but the same perspective gives someone else hope. Someone's way of dealing with things makes you pull your hair apart, but someone finds it endearing. Where does the buck stop then? With the behaviours, perspectives and actions of the other person or the emotions you choose to bring to the table. We see the world as we are, and the biggest challenge is that we want everyone to see only our world and follow our path.
Let the buck stop at you. When you change the way you look at the world, the world you look at changes.
