  You are fire.
But you have a choice to be either
heat or light.

  mark

Someone sent an abrupt email and now you’re a raging inferno. Someone brought out your worst and now you’re breathing fire exhaling expletives that can put the ones with foul-mouthed eloquence to shame. The story you had built over the years has come crashing down and now you are a flamethrower - turning to ash anything that is changing your narrative. Someone said things about you that you'd buried a long time ago, and now you’re a smouldering ember caught in an ankle-high boot.

You are fire and you are made of fire. You are one with the elements. But you have a choice to transform that fire and burn everything down with anger, or to use the fire to reignite peace within you.

At that moment, when you are at boiling point, ask a simple question: Right now, am I adding heat or light?

When you choose to add heat, you make, maybe an unconscious but a habitual choice of venting, blaming, being sarcastic, using dramatic language, a punishing tone, or saying something to release pressure, not necessarily to create understanding.

But when you choose to add light, you add clarity, truth, honesty, goodness, grounded firmness, clean boundaries, and you speak what is needed without adding your special brand of poison.

Heat burns, light heals. Heat is reaction, light is response. Heat releases, light resolves. Heat insists on speaking, light listens and gets heard. Heat is impulse, light is expression.

Heat happens when the nervous system is flooded, and light happens when love and awareness walk into the room. No, the goal is not to become silent, nice, passive, or avoid conflict, but to stop mistaking emotional combustion for meaningful communication.

Removing heat does not remove your power. In fact, the more you reduce the heat, you make way for light. And light is the most potent power in the universe, steeped in love, compassion, forgiveness, kindness, and generosity.

Am I adding heat or light? Ask this question every time before replying to a message, before correcting someone, in a conflict or argument, before a difficult meeting, when trolling or posting on social media, and most importantly, in self-talk.

You are fire. Be the light.

It’s okay for you to step back to give yourself more time when you feel overwhelmed or far away from yourself.

It’s okay to loosen your grip and stop trying to manage every outcome. Life was never fully yours to control. It's okay to surrender all outcomes to the universe.

It’s okay to disappoint people sometimes. Being unable to show up perfectly does not mean you do not care. It means you are human.

It's okay if people are in a bad mood. Almost all the time, it's got nothing to do with you.

It’s okay to want a life that feels bigger, truer, or more joyful, even when others do not understand your longing. People's version of a big life belongs to them to live. It's not yours to live it for them.

It’s okay to feel anxiety, grief, sadness, loneliness, or envy. Feeling something deeply does not give pain permission to become harm. It allows you to feel the whole.human experience.

It’s okay to ask for support for your mental and emotional well-being. Needing help does not make you weak.

It’s okay to choose a different path from your family, your conditioning, or the generations before you.

It’s okay to grieve the life you imagined. Longing for a different timeline does not make you ungrateful.

It’s okay for you to change in relationships. Your needs, capacities, and truths are allowed to evolve, and so are other people.

It’s okay to outgrow people, places, and versions of yourself that once felt like home.

It’s okay to rest before you have earned it in the eyes of the world.

It’s okay to say no, even when you do not have a dramatic enough reason to explain it. It's okay to say, I am not up to it and I have no other reason.

It’s okay to protect your peace, even if it disappoints people who benefited from your lack of boundaries.

It’s okay to not know what comes next. Clarity often arrives after honesty, not before it.

It’s okay to stop performing when what you really need is softness and just being.

It’s okay to leave what hurts you, even if you once prayed for it.

It’s okay to want connection and solitude at the same time. Human hearts
are layered like that.

It’s okay to be proud of how far you’ve come and still ache for what is not here yet.

It’s okay to not turn every wound into wisdom overnight. Some pain needs time before it becomes meaningful. Not every experience needs to be learned from - some just need to be lived and experienced.

It’s okay to stop shrinking so other people can stay comfortable.

It’s okay to feel joy again after grief. Healing is not betrayal.

It’s okay to take yourself seriously, even if others only knew an older,
smaller version of you.

It’s okay to choose a slower, truer life over one that only looks impressive from the outside.

It's okay to be okay and not good. It's okay to be okay while others are good. It's okay to be good while others are just okay.
