Don’t save the good stuff. Save yourself.

That bone china set that came as a part of your 'dowry', the one you proudly display in the living room. You've taken it out twice. Once when you had your boss come home for dinner, and then that one time when you realised it had gone pale yellow from pristine white and no lemon with baking soda could resurrect it.

What are you saving that Kanjeevaram saree for? The heirloom, the one that no one in your ancestral line has ever worn. The saree that has seen only the insides of termite-infested almirahs and aired once in a kitty party.

The expensive candle you were gifted when your son was born. The light of your life has flown the nest but the candle still sits there on the mantelpiece, the wax attracting more house dust than the attention of house guests.

The perfume you bought from your first visit to Paris. The curves of the ochre bottle dressing the dresser for the last three decades but never has it enhanced the scent of the woman who has owned it but has lost her essence in the rancid smell of life's dying dreams.

The poems you wrote in a leather-bound moleskin that lies buried in a cheap carton with 'Personal' written on with a bold black permanent marker - a sign to oneself that things personal should not see the light of the world. But within those verses lie the story of your life which owns you, for better or for worse, you will never know till you put yourself out there in the world.

The paintings that lie in the garage. A permanent exhibition for the cockroaches and rats who feed on your forgotten canvases like a person deprived of the joys of life feeds on breadcrumbs of love to forget his suffering.

What are you saving yourself for? One day, the dress won't fit, the crockery will crack, the perfume won't smell, the candle will become an addition to the clutter, the poem will die without having lived its purpose.

Life will pass by waiting for a special day. Have your rajma chawal in the bone china, wear the Kanjeevaram for a date with yourself at home, light the candle as you pour yourself a glass of wine, wear the perfume, put those poems, those paintings, those business plans, those ideas out there.

Save yourself. Not the good stuff.

A life transformation program.

  Many of us are XXXL.
But all of us are M.

Therefore, rise and attain glory… All these have already been slain by Me. O Arjuna, just become an instrument. ~ Bhagavad Gita 11.33

There are influencers. There are celebrities. There are the rich, the powerful, the successful, the ones with millions of followers, the ones on lists, the ones who seem larger than life. There are those who have hacked the algorithm and learnt how to bend attention in their favour. Many of all are XXXL.

And yet, beneath all the noise and all the scale, there is one truth that makes
all of us equal.

All of us are mediums. M.

That is how the magic works. Through us. Not beside us. Not around us. Not for us. Not despite us. But through us. Creation works through us. Ideas work through us. Miracles work through us. Life keeps choosing forms through which it can express itself, and for a brief, beautiful while, those forms happen to be us.

This is what Krishna tells Arjuna. Rise, act, fight, do what is yours to do - but do not carry the burden of imagining that you are the ultimate doer. Be the instrument. Be the medium. Be the zariya. Be the saadhan. Be the flute, not the one playing it. Be the paintbrush, not the painter. Be the hand through which the Divine chooses to move. The end result is never in your hands, never has been, never will be. The outcome has already been written and you just have to show up to make it happen in reality.

The moment you drop the story of ‘I am the doer’ something deep gets undone. Creation begins to flow with less noise. You still show up, you still labour, you still create, choose, love, work, and risk, but you no longer clutch the outcome so tightly. You no longer hoard credit when things go right or drown in blame when things go wrong. Every success no longer inflates you and failure no longer destroys you.

And then a beautiful question arises - if the creation is not yours, why create at all?

Because the joy of creation is yours to experience fully. Because being chosen as a medium is a privilege. Because the act of creation bridges your inner world and the outer one. Because in being a conscious co-creator with God, you begin to realise something astonishing about yourself - that divinity does not only sit above you, it moves through you.

Not all of us may be making art in the conventional sense, but all of us are artists. We bring into existence what was not there before - a poem, a conversation, a room rearranged, a school, a business, a bridge, a new language of love, a stranger’s renewed hope.

The size of the creation does not matter. The size of the creator does not matter. What matters is your willingness to be an active participant in your life and be a part of this divine Leela. What matters is your stillness, your devotion, your courage to say yes when life chooses you.

The universe is always trying to make something through you. Do not be so busy envying other people’s miracles that you miss the one waiting to be born through your own hands.
